This is a rescue we are going to meet in the next few days, so we're curious as to whether the experts here think she's purebred & what approximate age. I know it's difficult from a photo. Thanks!

Doesn't quite look purebred to me. But a close cross. Maybe a dutchie or malanois cross. Can't tell on age but I would say younger rather than older since the whiskers aren't going white yet. My gSDs started going white at around 6. I could be way off though. That is a total guess

She looks purebred to me, just underweight.

My Falko is 9 years and his face if as black as when I got him at 8 weeks, no white hairs.

she has soft eyes and a beautiful face, she looks like she's begging for someone to love.

she looks to be an american showline x euro working line...

as far as age, anything over 8 months.if

she's a rescue, does it matter if she's purebred?

She looks like she could be still a pup who hasn't grown into her ears yet. Not sure if she's purebred, but if she's a mix, yeah, could be Dutchie or Mal. The genes controlling a dog's appearance sort themselves out in funny ways sometimes. My neighbour had a shepherd cross that you'd SWEAR was purebred, until you noticed the white sock on one foot. It's been too long ago, so I forget what the other parent was.

If she's under 9 months old, she won't have a full set of teeth yet, so you can judge her age by that. The molars at the very rear come in around 8 months. Also, look for a bump on the wrist. If you see that you will know her bones are still growing, and she's under a year old.

Here's my female, Star, at 8 months. You can clearly see the bump on her right front leg where the end of the bone is still growing.

Thanks for all the guesses. Those ears  make ya think deerX for sure. LOL

I didn't know about checking the molars & wrist bumps, but I will attempt that when I see her. Here's another photo.

The rescue thinks about one year old. It is true that being purebred doesn't mostly matter.....just curious as to the 'experts' opinions. If she's a good fit to us & to my current rescue male that's all that really counts.

Appreciate the advice & opinions! Thanks!

she look pure to me...just stressed..when i got my GSD from shelter she was so stressed she looked white/sable with very short hair, lots of white on a face, she looked grey and white in color.......she was 2.5 years old...
my guess your new addition is about 1.5 - 2.5 years old....not mature enough but very underweight and stressed...

4 months after we got oyr Misty her white face started turning black again... at 2.5 years old

a year later...after shedding she got a lot darker in red and her fur was longer and much thicker.

and at 8.5 years old.
