I am in the process of writing a police dog book, and the best resource
for German Shepherd historical information has been the Gordon Garrett
manuscript that has been floating around for a number of years.  Unfortunately
this has been difficult to read because of formatting issues, so I have done
some editing and added some reference information at the end.
