Just checked out, said good bye to Dr. Dolance (middle) and Dr. Leonard (right). Thank you ASEC for saving Jovi and for listening to me sob and for allowing me to spend time with Jovi during non-visiting hours. Will return on Wed for follow up.

Now this is an example of a good breeder.......
Also a huge thanks to nelli rascko who stayed by my side during this long journey. During the surgery she stayed with me the entire time, spoke to me 20x a day. You are such a good friend. Nelli and Alan assisted me during check in and helped me with the initial deposit. I know we will be friends for life.

Here's an example of a great frind......
Thanks Dana. I very appreciative for suggesting, building , and maintaining the chipin site. Dana you are an angel. There is no way i could of kept Jovi alive, i am forever in indebted to you.

And all is an example of a great and loving dog owner........

Way to go Jovi, maybe we'll see you and Denise on the trial field in the future - hope so!

-From the owner of Jovi von Danubius...
We have been out of the hospital for almost four weeks. Jovi developed a pattern of vomiting every-other day, severe diarrhea. Jovi has been on reglan, flagyl, pepcid, probiotics, and prilosec. On April 1st, my local vet said that Jovi needed a chance for her stomach to rest. So for three days, jovi got all of her fluids via subcutaneous, along with all her medication and B12. I gave Jovi her first meal today, and so far so good, Jovi has lost 20lbs since this nightmare started. My other dog, 2 year old male GSD Kobe von Danubius, IPO2, died 12 hours before Jovi fell ill with Mesenteric Torsion, he died of the same thing. UC Davis has been working with me to find answers. I need to get information from anyone else that has had a dog with torsion that has survived. If you have information please contact me directly at
justworkingdogs@gmail.com.  I am trying to help all GSDs finding an answer to this illness would help so many others.

  Dogslanding:

WHat bacteria or fungi has the vet dismissed as it is NOT>

For instance, the  fungi that grows in flowerbeds, on dried fruit on ground, rotten fruit outside in pastures, or manure or such that both of them could have ingested if they both went out to Potty ..?

A buyer of one of my gsd, lost his male to CLOSTRIDIUM PERFRINGENS  TYPE D

DOG VOMITED TWICE, AND MARK RUSHED HIM TO EMERGENCY VET... by the time he got there the vomit was pure blood as was stool

vet and his own vet the next day said   this type if  intestinal bacteria is the most difficult one to determine and by the time we do...dog is deathly invaded and lost too much blood and dies.

WONDER if this could be.. Cows die of this too and farm animals in pastures...

HIS dog ate fruit laying on ground under the trees in the pasture...moldy and full of fungi...

MY FIRST THOUGHT IS THIS...

A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE FLOWER BEDS WITH TONS OF BARK IN THEM...IT GROWS IN THE BARK AND UNDER IT..IF YOUR DOG LIKES TO CHEW ON THINGS..THE BARK IN YOUR FLOWER BED COULD ALSO BE TREATED WITH CHEMICALS.

MY  3 cents worth.

RIP KOBE   and please search your yard and premises.. KOVI bless her life and heart.

Hope you hold up to the memories...

I cannot think what it is called, but it is something one puts in flowerbeds.  It is like bark.  I think that it is related to chocolate.  I am NOT joking!!!!  People were warned about it some years ago.  Have not heard of any warnings since then.  Ask a garden store.  Very deadly to dogs and since both of them had the same reaction they could have gotten into the same thing.  Ask the gardener.
