Yes, I have already searched the archives for this one. There are varied answers.
I have original pink papers (with pedigree and SchH scores). The former owner has signed off and my name and address has been added on, and I signed.
I have a beschnigan (sp?) = certificate of transfer in letter form.
Question: Do I first have to mail SV papers and beschnigan back to SV to get the dog put in my name with them, so that I can
get AKC papers in my name? Or do I mail what I have to AKC + the two pictures and application form?
Question #2: When do you do the DNA? Only when/if breeding? Or include with AKC application form? Or at some
other time in the process?
#3: AKC website says send a copy of registration papers and send original pedigree. My papers are one in the same. Would you really send your original anything to AKC?
Thank You for any replies and information,
Sheryl
I have called AKC three times in 4 hours. It is always busy.

The Bescheinigung needs to be in your name, so if it is not already, then you must send SV pink papers back to Germany to transfer ownership
there first.
Once you get you pink papers back, and Bescheinigung you must submit to AKC. I believe I sent in copies of my dog's pink papers/pedigree and
origional Bescheinigung, which they did return. You will also need to send 2 color photographs, one head shot and one side shot with the dog
standing.
You can do DNA anytime before you have a litter.
I believe that AKC, once they received my paperwork, actually had her AKC to me in 4 days.

I too had to send in COPY of Pink papers to AKC after they came back from Germany SV registered in my name, along with the original Bescheinigung and my was also returned. I make copies for myself of the paperwork I send to AKC just for safety reasons. Things tend to get lost in the mail more lately.

Mine this past year was 15.50 Euros plus 8.20 Euros for registered mail.
I faxed my credit card info, so I was not sending it through the mail, and mailed her pink papers there.
Contact Sabine Leib at the SV. She speaks and writes English and was VERY helpful with the whole process. Her email is
