I breed BCs and I know this is a GSD forum but it seems to be very active. Having some issues breeding two of my dogs (tested, titled, litter sold if bred). My female is currently standing and flagging. The male mounts her and penetrates her but then she turns around and attacks him and he backs off. Tries again, penetrates and this all repeats. It’s been almost two years since she was last bred and I really don’t want to miss this litter as it may be the last one (she’s five now and has only ever had one litter). Thank you!

Muzzle her & hold her if you really want her bred. Providing, of course she is healthy & been checked by a vet to not have any issues that would cause pain during copulation. Or maybe he's just not to her liking? Good luck, jackie harris

AI?

Has she been examined for anything that could be causing her pain? Stricture?
Could it just be too early? Many will flag before they are really "ready" to stand. Also, some males won't push it and will back off if attacked, so you may have to do what Jackie suggested, though that's not something I like to do or have ever had to do.

Some females do that. Muzzle her and hold her still until the tie is completed. That will take at least 2 people depending on how adamant she is about not being bred. Otherwise you're not going to get puppies. An AI is a good alternative if the male stops trying or if she is too much to handle. 2 men should be able to hold a BC bitch long enough to get her tied. You could also have your vet do a progesterone test to be sure she is ready.
