Is anyone familiar with what characteristics he brings when linebred? Seen many offspring, but the linebred ones are still too young to judge. Wonder if anyone has seen any old enough to evaluate?

I have a 2-3 female on Tom over 2.4 years old, high drive, high energy, nice preydrive.

that question cant be answered as there are many TOM offspring ,with many different caracteristics , , so it all depends over what dogs the linebreeding was done
quite a difference if you go by zamp weinbergblick or eros mohnwiese , to give an example

duke,

If it were as simple as linebreeding on "X" dog,
well, it would be simple. But just because a dog is
linebred 2-2-3-4-5-5-5-5 on ___________________
doesn't mean much if you don't know what those
dogs actually brought to the breeding. There is
"prey Tom", and "serious Tom", so not so simple
as duke said.

Steve1 has a dog line bred (I can't recall if it is 2-2 or 2-3) to Como and thus Tom as well so he might have insight as I think that dog is at least one year now.

Duke1965......I agree wholeheartedly and you gave a good example!!
by duke1965 on 31 January 2012 - 18:01
justice , eros and como are not typical TOM offspring , so if you want to linebreed on tom for his caracteristics they are not the path to follow

by Bundishep on 31 January 2012 - 23:01
Eros or Como is an excellent path to follow, Como was number one in the world for 2010 of coarse not all great dogs have the ability to produce themselves,If i remmeber correctly the most dogs in the last WUSV came off of Tom and thus Ellute or Eros to me that doesnt say everything but it is still worth looking at in a breeding program.

Anyone notice that Tom lines produce small females, or is that coming from Ellute?

by Ace952 on 01 February 2012 - 04:02
what do you mean by small females?
What do you consider to be avg and what do you consider to be small?
