Gotta admit, I have been worried about posting the forum as I read it frequently and
there seems to be some tough customers and lots of "gossip" here. Therefore, I am
trying to post my question with some anonymity. I don't want to get anyone in trouble nor do
I want to enter the rumor mill. But, I am not sure how to proceed.
Here it is in a nutshell: I was recently given a GSD
I don't know if she was ever registered, but I do know the sire and dam--one is AKC registered
the other has a number starting with SZ.
I have been unsuccessful in getting any more information on the dog from the
person who gave her to me and I am getting tired of trying. However,
it scares me to think that a previous owner could come back and say 'that's my dog" and
take the dog back.
I know this sounds mysterious, don't mean it to, but I am hoping someone will pm me
and help in private

well, I'm an idiot as I did not mean to post this yet. I have pm'd someone though to help me try to figure this out
privately and will keep all who might be interested in the outcome informed!
sorry for any confusion

Aren't the sire and dam listed on the pedigree database here?
by gsdamore on 31 January 2012 - 02:01
actually yes, but that does not tell me who owned the dog I was given before she was given to me.
I want to get her into my name, but have no idea who owned her, don't have vet records, nothing...

If you post the pedigree that would be helpful to find the previous owner or even the breeder. Just a thought.
