Fenrir

My girl is still too young however here sooner than later I would like to do my first breeding with her everything is falling into line very nicely and I like to have things planned out a bit a head of time. Here were 3 breedings I was looking at and wanted to know what fellow pedigree whores have to say about these matings. I have spoken to 2 of the 3 dogs owners however this is all very early, early stage stuff just getting a feeling here mostly.

This dog I am just impressed with, love his pedigree and he is plain gorgeous to me V rated and the litter would yeild all black pups

Pyke von Prevent

This breeding I really like, it is pretty tight but it is a 3-3 on Paska which I love, it also doubles down on the Bora (like the previous breeding) which I am a big fan of and I have seen the dog and he is amazing. Would yeild all sables that carry black recessive.

The last one I have been looking at I also am a big fan of, the dog himself is rock solid and I love his drives and willingness to please. He also brings Troll vom Haus Milinda into my girls lines which I am a very, very big fan of. It also would be more of an outcross. Would yield black and tans and pure black pups.

I wonder what people think of these lines coming together and if anyone maybe sees some possible problems I may not be aware of. Like I said still kinda for fun but our training has hit the next stage and it is time for me at very least to look into it. Also any suggestions of other dogs she may mix well with?

Is Shocks in the US?

I like the combination of Shocks with your female best, just on paper. But I'd want to know more about your female and what her drives and temperament are like and what are your goals for the breeding.

I like Shocks, have seen him work as well.

I have a Pyke daughter and she is crazy in drive. She's an incredibly nice dog, but only for the experienced handler. Not knowing what your goals are makes it hard to answer with anything definite

Hi, I have a male related to Pyke von Prevent through Falk lines here in the US. His dam line is line bred on Dasty vom Gries.
He has super drives, temperament, & structure. He wasn't worked for many years before I purchased him
but is quickly obtained his titles now. Ellex von Windecker Hof SCH2 KkL1. He will complete his SCH3 this spring.
Their linebreeding would be:
4,5 - 5........................................... in V Dasty vom Gries
  • 5 - 4............................................. in SG Brutus vom grauen Stern
  • 5 - 4............................................. in Bora vom Schwarzen Milan

My girl has very, very high drive an insane dog to own in the house (just the way I like it) she is not perfect and can come up the line if over corrected her confidence in general is a thing of beauty. I am looking to produce high drive dogs with a nasty edge when needed. I do like having a working line dog with great looks and confirmation, I think breeding her back to dogs like Paska would bring out that nasty edge while keeping those stunning looks. Honestly it is why I like the Pyke combo so much high drive good looks is great. One thing about Shocks is he is a real soldier, my girl is quite the rebel a very independent thinker that can cause big problems if she is not in the right mood and I think Shocks could help right some of that. Shocks is still in the US and competed this year at nationals I think he may have gotten 3rd or 4th this year rock solid dog owned by the most rock solid of handlers. I have heard Pyke is overseas in China or something like that, I would have to find his owner obviously though I would totally make the effort. My girl is a very experienced handler only kind of dog which is funny given how novice I am.

I'm kind of curious who you think is going to be looking at getting these puppies and what they will be doing. What about the puppies that might be a bit too edgy/nervy for working homes but are too drivey for pet homes?

BlackthornGSD I was thinking the same thing when I read the reply post. Work with your female a little longer at a few different clubs to see how your dog performs, helpers evaluations, & various other GSD's temperament & drives. You'll gain a better view of what you might want to improve on in the offspring you produce with your female. Also you'll see what issues the average handler deals with their dogs & why many dogs are rejected from sport / police after a while. If a police dog bites their partner / their family member more than once around here they are put to sleep. Good Luck with your female, all 3 studs listed are very nice hope you choose the one that will balance out the offspring
