just curious can a hard hitting fighting gsd still be handler soft? and correct me if i am wrong but no matter how hard a dog hits it has nothing to do with how well its going to perform in a real situation right.

Does not have anything to do with my sport is better than your sport but has to dó with breeding the best working traits In the dogs and for sure schh is the working titel that most gsd breeders look to when choosing a female and male but the sport does not test very much about witch dogs should be breed and witch should not be because almost any dog Can pass a schh 3 but not many could pass KNPV or Ring 3 or campagne only a good working dog could pass these titels So ofcourse a good dog is a good dog no matter the Lines or titels but again when choosing dogs In breeding and their working abilities Im sure that many other sports test the dogs further ón I myself have Two dogs with schh lines only and thet are good dogs but the gsd has not become a better working dog the last many years and breeders look at schh more today when choosing the breeding female and male and the gsd has lost some hardness and drive In the eye off many off us due to that they should compete with the mal and the strict rules that schh has created

Now I am anxious to see a KNPV trial.  Never have.  Might be missing something but will leave that sport to younger ones than me.  LOL

What is the difference between KNPV and Schutzhund?

Destiny, yes a dog can be very hard on the helper yet still be handler sensitive with his owner.  Two different traits.

valerie is right , the dog in my club hits like a rocket , but cant take much pressure from the handler , ALSO , if first attack misses or looses grip , chances are the dog will not come back for second bite but will be scared off the field , but as long as  first bite is on , he is impressive like hell , spoke with the owner who is very well aware of the shortcomings and said  , if we make video of him and how poins , people will come and breed to him

How do you get a hard dog? Are there pills for them as well?

myret really got what i was saying. im new to the working world and is learning alot day by day and the more trials i watch and learn anbout there history and what they are today it had me wonder. even in the belgin mals you tend to see them hit harder then a schutzhund mal and even the real ring sport(belgin). belgin ring is so much harder then mondio and french. i watch a couple of knpv bloodlines of GSDs and there drive is way diffrent then a schtuzhund dog. maybe that was just a once of a life time dog but just in general its really different to me.

JEB KNPV was what the dogs had to go through to be police dogsa know this did not make them poiice dogs if they as to they had to go through another 3 weeks of training.
schutzhund and knpv are very different. i think sch has a more 'this is it it must be this' as far as obedience dog for. and i think knpv got bretter protection.

Do anybody agree?
