My German Shepherd is nine months, this is her first heat cycle (and only one, getting fixed in two weeks), she has no appetite and is vommitting. Is this normal?!
I called our local vet and they had never heard of a female vomitting before or having a low appetite while in heat and said if it continued to bring her in, but I thought I would see if anyone else has had this experience?

i have heard of females going off of there feed while in heat , and the only time i know of the female to vomit is after they eat grass, this is from the hormones, and yes some will do this.
Hormones play a big number on the female esp the first time around, i think could be normal for your female, i will say if she is done with her cycle and still not back to normal , then you may have a problem.
how long has she been in heat?
i think 2 weeks after heat cycle is too soon to get her fix, i would wait , atleast a month after she has finish with her cycle.
well thats me any way.

Trixx, thank you for the input, I think that we will wait about a month to get her fixed to let things even out. We hadn’t made an appointment yet. Our vet recommended she get fixed right away. I think I will do more research too. :D
We will try the bread in Olive Oil and see if it helps. Poor girl. Thanks for the advice guys!
