since no one else has answered I will give you my opinion. I have never met Boomer and my only opinion on him is from pictures, but I did pay special attention at NASS to Boomer's puppies. He had several entered in different puppy classes, males and females out of different mothers and different kennels. IMO, Boomer was one of the most uniform producers (studs with progeny entered at this year's nass) represented. If I knew there would be Boomer progeny in a class, I tried to pick them out without looking up their numbers, and I was almost always successful at doing that. As a generalization, all the puppies he had at nass were very rambunctious, and very vocal! Beautiful coats, some of the most sleek coats with nice color that I've ever seen in young pups. They drew my eyes to them immediately. I don't think any of his puppies won their class (maybe one or two did? can't remember), but IMO (again, just my opinion!) it might have been because these pups needed more training. Structurally, many of them could have won their classes, they were right up there with the winners. A big problem seemed to be that they tended to bounce around the ring or spin in circles rather than gait. Of course that should be expected of puppies, but the ones that beat Boomer's pups tended to be more controlled and better ring trained. Please remember this is just from my memory, I don't want people ripping my head off if they disagree. Btw, just based on his pups at nass, I would absolutely consider him as a top choice for a breeding male in Germany right now. I can't wait to see his progeny group at bszs next year! And if I had a breeding female right now he'd be a top 3 or 4 choice for me in Germany.
