"In recent weeks, various dog associations of significant steps to move to come under heavy criticism protection dog sports in perspective. The animal protection law expert from the Veterinary University of Vienna said in an interview with "pro-animal" and "Four Paws" that the sport in her eyes no longer fits the times. What the krone.at readers think?"

that sort of people should mind their own business. What don't they go and try and stop boxing or something else? Dogs are not getting injured or anything, don't see a reason to stop.

C'mon now, dogs do get injured, just like athletes in any sport and some dogs have died, just as some football players have. If we say things that are not so, it gives opponents ammunition. Instead, we could tell the truth but focus on precautions taken to make things safe (sound training, certifications of helpers, prohibition of cruel conduct, etc.) and the fact that dogs LOVE doing it and the overall goal is to test and promulgate sound, intelligent, stable, courageous, healthy dogs.
