As someone who puts in the time and effort to train, title, and compete with my dogs, it frustrates me to see imaginary titles like PPD listed after a dog's name here. There is no such thing as a PPD title to my knowledge. Or SCHH, or schH training, or BH (which is required to get a title) or all the other made up BS that makes it appear that a dog is titled. Give the dog a couple of sleeve bites, and now it's a PPD, so let's breed it.

Here is an example. The dog is listed as BH, SCHH, PPD. What that means is that the dog has no titles, (until the owner reads this, and changes the pedigree).
Could the site owner put some sort of list of actual titles to choose from, when inputting a pedigree? It might clear up some of the deception that might fool a newbie into thinking that the dog has real titles. Just a thought.

As to the list of titles, it would be ok if this was strictly a GSD database, but since other breeds are allowed to register pedigrees here, it would make the list impossibly long. I put most of my Beaucerons in here a while ago and I had to list a bunch of French ratings (titles that are similar to a Koer rating, but French terms). It was nice to be able to list the titles as they were printed on the pedigrees and know that others familiar with the breed would know what they were.

I believe there are some organizations that offer "titles" for personal protection dogs, Service Dogs of America is one of them if they are still up and running http://www.servicedogsofamerica.com/sda-titles/35-protection-titles.html and I also found the American Personal Protection Dog Association

I do think the SchH1 replaces the BH but I don't get up in arms if people don't remove the BH. Same for AKC titles, like listing RN RA and RE.

All I am suggesting is that people only put real titles, awarded by a real judge, after their dog's names. It takes away from someone's hard work in herding, schutzhund, ringsport, PSA, or AKC obedience, to name a few, when someone decides that their dog is a PPD or a SCHH, or some other title that wasn't awarded to the dog based on it's accomplishments. Any real title, low or high, should be displayed. It's the titles that don't exist that shouldn't. As an example, Ii you have a BH and are working towards a schH1, then all you have done is pass the BH. You don't have a schH1 until you achieve a passing schH1 score in a trial. So all you should be putting after your dog's name is BH, nothing more. If you want more after your dog's name, earn it.
My thought was that if the only way to add a title on PDB was from a drop down list of real titles, not allowing people to make up their own titles. JMO.

What about those "Kreative" titles, like the RPD and EDD?

What ticks me off more is when people put Velmi Dobry, SG, VD or other rating crap at the beginning of the dogs name. Drives me up a wall. That is NOT part of the dogs's name!!!

Hmmmm, Ace, you know that when you register a dog and it asks for the rating, that it appears in front of the dog's name, right?
