Well i have an 11 wk old female pup ddr/czech lines.I got her when she was 8 wks old very social always getting into everything nothing phases her.She is about 95% housebroken. Well about 4 days ago she started to piddle alitte when the gf would come home.So I would take her out just before the gf comes home and she would do her business.Well the gf comes home and she does a little puddle again so i thought she is just over excited to see her.Well my daughter was just here on sunday and she did another little puddle and at that time she did just come in from doing business.I do take her just about everywheres I go and thank god she doesn't do it when I take her into my work place because I'd never hear the end of it lol So now when the gf gets home I quickly let Cybil out to greet her and she still does a little puddle. How can I correct this or will she just out grow it?
Thanks in advance
Steve

Don't worry.  The puppy is still very young.  Ryder did the same for quite a long time but did grow out of it.  I also took him out to greet and he would piddle.  Didn't matter if he had just gone potty, he would still manage to have some ready.  He is 9 months old now and he stopped doing the piddle thing about 3 months ago.  Sorry, I know that is a long time but it gradually got better.  They just get so excited and can't really help themselves I guess.  Greeting outside is the best idea because at least you don't have to clean it.

She will most likely out grow it Steve, especially since she has not always done it it makes it seem to be a phase. Try not to make a big deal about it and just take her back outside. Maybe for a while just have her greet people outside. BUT you may also have a urine specimen checked. Puppy vaginitis and bladder infections are fairly common in young female puppies. A common sign is stringy mucous after they pee. Although it does sound more like a phase than anything else.
Hope that helps some,
Debby

I agree with Debby; assuming she is healthy this is just submissive urination and she will almost certainly grow out of it.  Clean it up and don't make a big deal out of it; correcting her is probably the worst thing you can do.

She will outgrow it.

It is submissive peeing.

Do not pat her on her head when you greet her, scratch her under belly.
Have your gf not make a big deal, and to totally ignore her in the beginning, when she gets home,
then after the pup settles in, your gf can scratch the pups under belly, real brief though.

When they are going through this stage it's best not to approach them and make a big deal
about them greeting you, don't make a big ta do about them peeing also, or they will try
to pee more to please you (even though you're none too pleased!)

I had two girl pups that did that and the less I acknowledged them at that behavior, the faster
it went away.

If they do it while you are attaching their leash, attach while you are moving forward walking, some can't pee while they are busy walking!

Hope this helps in some ways...

Good luck!

Definitely make the greeting take place outside for now, nothing to worry about as others have said.
