For the last couple years I have noticed many cattle and horse breeders adding dog breeding to their income but not really understanding the difference in the care of breeding them versus livestock. This kennel advertisement is a prime example of my points with what I have been thinking about. Notice the dogs are advertised as large which sells many horses but are not good for our dogs. I notice they love over bulky horses and seem to carry the theme into the dogs. They show their horses, yet they do not deem it important to extend the same care into the dogs they produce. In horses many times a lesser grade mare is used to a nice stud and is very acceptable, but in my opinion with dogs you really need both to be of quality. I cannot read the ads very well because of the extra small fonts to study deeper nor have any wish to because they really seem to be breeding for pets to supplment the loss in horse sales in this economy. http://do-paints.com/
I have noticed horse farms in our economy at this time are stepping up breeding dogs to keep farms and their horses fed. Quite frankly right now people are abandoning horses at stables and setting them loose unable to care for them daily and are not buying horses these days. I really think this is going to cause even more gsds ending up in danger of population controlnin shelters. This like puppymills are another source to overcrowding the pet market with a breed that people are dumping more and more as they loose their homes and rentals do not allow them. I forsee another snowball in not just our breed but what ever breed each ranch or stable is producing in place of missed incomes and the need to feed their breeding horses in these lean times.

Some of today's SL dogs are almost as big as horses--LOL.
