Red Sable

I like the B litter better too, mainly because of the dam,(they  have much to do with it IMHO)  and I'd go with a female if it is for personal protection.

Of course it mainly depends on the dog, but I have found that my female is more about me than the property.  She is territorial too, but just more protective of me than any male I've had.  I used to be a male kinda gal, but I'm liking the females better all the time.  JMHO. :)

Both litters have Tom...one Ellute...one Eros...I like the doubling up on Olex and like bringing Buster into the picture...as far as male or female...I've always worked females until I got my boy Barack....!

Maybe you could expand on that judron, for those of us that don't know Olex or Buster, what do they bring to the breeding?

Please? :)

I like the B litter best, but both are outstanding. At my house we'd probably end up with one from each :). Of course I have to throw a wrench in the works and vote for a girl from B LOL. Seriously, I'm not sure you could go to terribly wrong any way you go. I just love the Antverpa dogs so tend to go to those if undecided otherwise.

Personally, I'd go with the 2nd litter because I don't like the linebreeding choices in the first litter. I would worry about spines (and/or transitional vertabrae) in dogs linebred on Nick. In general, I'm not a big fan of Yoschy linebreeding either or the doubling up of Nick+Yoschy and would prefer to avoid having that many lines overall going to Fero.

I love my girls & really enjoy working with females. No matter how much I spoil & baby my girls they still mature into slightly more independent / not as cuddly once mature, & more serious about their work.
The males on the other hand, my husband always says I totally wuzzify them. LOL, they become total momma boys with me & great lap dogs to snuggle with on the couch.
As for work it's physically easier to work girls during training for protection than males just because of the size difference if your a smaller size woman.
I've found females get more serious of general protection of territory & the whole family. While the males I've owned get very serious if anyone goes near me &
always watching out for me. But I never saw them as intense with the property if I wasn't there or adult human males in the family.  My males always seemed more watchful in public for threats
with me than my females. It's like they have to keep an eye on everyone that will get close to me, not in a aggressive way but just watchful. While the females I find take public outings in stride,
focus on the tasked at hand with you or where I'm hiding the ball. Both would react if need be if danger / threats should arise.
Everyone tells me I always prefer the males, but I just go for the dog with the type of temperament / drives I want if it turns out to be a male / female so be it.

"wuzzify"....LOL.....LOVE it! And so true....all my girls are cuddly but serious, & have to interrupt the cuddles now & then to 'patrol'. Whereas my boy Beckett would be just as happy to crash out next to me & let me do the protecting, unless he knows I'm incapacitated, like when I had my knee surgery, he was all about protecting me then, like he knew I couldn't defend myself. He protected me from violent leaves, chipmunks, the neighbors cat, & 1 very startled Fedex guy! LOL!

I like the 2nd litter best.....I'd go with a female from the B litter, too!

All the threads above .................. you are picking the pedigrees for choice ...... will the pedigrees protect her when the gets into a situation ............ It is apparent the primary purpose IS NOT for breeding .............. have someone with experrience in selecting "testing" pups make the test between the 2 and then there is your selection.      Regards ,               Greg

I like females myself, But when it comes trial time, if one of my girl's is in heat, then I have a problem. Just something to consider. Take Care   Pete
