I have a nine month old female GSD. This is her first shredding and despite brushing twice daily, her hair remains scattered all over the carpets etc. Request advice any possible remedy.

I spend a lot of time vacuuming, and when they are shedding they stay out or in a cage.
Theres no magic cure.

Thanks; Two Moons, but I believe shedding continues for a while!! How long do we keep them out?

Vacuum, Vacuum, Vacuum...nothing works really, not in my opinion.

Oh, yes, my puppy shredded too: the rugs, my socks, the legs of the DR chairs....

Oh, you mean SHEDDING?

Brush, brush, brush,

Vaccum, vaccum, vaccum.

They don't call them the German Shedding Dog for nothing!

A warm bath followed by blowing dry with a forced air dryer will get rid of a lot of the old hair, but it won't end the problem completely.  It will get much better once the old coat is shed out... until the fall shed, that is!

I've owned Shepherds for 20 years. It's just a problem you have to put up with when you own this breed. The fall shed isn't as heavy as the spring shed, but you will still notice it.
