Why would anyone in the Western Hemisphere bother to pay three times as much to have a dog or pup shipped from China when they can get the same or better bloodlines either locally or from Europe?

There used to be a couple of Chinese breeders who posted here - if I remember correctly, one of them bought a Zamp vom Thermodos litter brother.  Haven't seen them around for a couple of years though - I'm guessing they got sick of reading xenophobic crap from racists.

I have supported why it is done as a need in their nation....... I have brought up the plights of their people with no grazing for cattle and need for food even though I love dogs and do not want them eaten. So now you call me a racist? I have no further need to debate with you as your resorting to this level towards me tells me the quote is true  "You even called me stupid in your verse, and I’m almost agreeing, for where stupidity is involved, you are quite an expert, friend."

GSDNewbie. You are a racist. You don't have a lick of sense. You can't do math. You are in so many ways a complete dweeb, not to mention a GSD Newbie. Haysoos Crisco! Oh and you are stupid too, by the way.

There is a guy who is a purveyor of GSDs to the stars out here in CA. He routinely gets $40-60k for them, titled parents or not. These are working lines dogs. OK. So let's do a little math, and I shall indulge in my calculator for it. That guy wanted one of my female puppies, but no way would I sell to him, because she would just have been a puppy machine. Her mother had 13 in her first litter, and had a heat every four months. Let's do some math. Had she done that just twice in her first year as a brood mare, and her puppies went for a paltry 10k, the guy stood to make over a quarter of a mill that first year. So if he sold them for his usual $40k, there's the mill.

That's a bitch. Gee, that stud could breed HOW many times in a week? I mean, let's say he pulled in $10k a straw, once a day...he's fetching $3.65 mill a year.

In a country that has very few dogs that are worth a crap (after all, they clubbed most of the dogs about 5 years back because of the rabies scare), and way too many nouveau riche citiizens, I'd say that dog was a hot investment.

Whereas he'd make about, what, 20 meals, MAYBE?

You specifically alleged that Larus von Batu was imported by the Chinese to produce dogs to be eaten.  Enough of your generic nonsense about pasturelands and nutrition that could be applicable to half the nations on earth: you can either provide evidence that this is true, admit that you made an accusation about the importer without any actual proof and retract it, or keep proving my point about racism.

Don Deluxe:

You are actually one of few to say what we who have been in this sport of Schutz and breeding for 22 yrs know from our association with trainers and breeders in our clubs.

When I was in Spring Valley Schutz club , years ago and I had the pleasure of Meeting the owner of Sunrise Kennels in Irving, Tex, I went to her to breed my ZU to Vedor.. Upon arriving , I met a whole club of people who trained with Hundsport club at that time.]]

I was green in this sport and this dog world.. I went back many times to Diane and Kevins place and trained a bit and watched mainly what went on..

ONE day Dianne told me she and a fellowclub member were flying out to Europe tonight to get to a dog that someone in CHINA wanted very badly. They had to get there  before  the chinese  man did.  The price
back in the year of 1993 was $145,000.00 USA DOLLARS.  I thought I was hearing wrong , but discussing it with my trainer , I discovered a 2x VA or V1 dog with mega progheny wanted , in the breeding world, did cost that much , and more.

This is 2011.. PRICE now would be ??? Thru the years, I know the price above has been paid by many breeders of top GSD in China for sport and breeding , not for eating.

My computer is now sticking on this page so I have a mess up above..cannot correct it.

I don't believe for a second he was bought for lunch.  Was it not the Chinese that bought that Tibetan Mastiff for almost 1 million?  Saying they are going to eat him is ridiculous.

Hey Don, I know an old lady who ate dogs in China DURING THE REVOLUTION. She also cops to eating rats and worms. They ate anything they could find, apparently. Still, eating dogs is better than what the Donner Party was reduced to eating. Hey people will eat anything in a pinch........but not when they are filthy rich businessmen in the process of taking over the free enterprise of the world!

SOME Chinese people probably eat dogs, or maybe it's ATE dogs when they had to to surivive, and somehow the whackjobs of the world thought that meant that Chinese people will pay a jillion bucks for a plate of SchH III. LORDY. I'd better get back that white gsd rescue I placed at my brother's house....his wife is Chinese. She might eat Leah if she gets a wild hankering!!!

Just look at this bloodthirsty half-Chinese bitch:
