I am looking for people who may have bought a dog or puppy from Challenger Farms in Thorp, WI and have had a bad experience with the dog they purchased having health and or hip problems or behavioral problems. I am gathering information for a court case against Larry Paskert, the owner. I am tired of breeders promising to back up their pups and then coming up with every excuse in the book not too!
If you have any info on this kennel or it's owner ... I'd like to hear about it.

What kind of problems are you having with the dog you purchased?

Are you only looking for the negative stuff? Don't you want to know if anything good has come out the kennel in question? Or are you  just looking to  make a couple bucks in a lawsuit?

    I bought two from him. A brother and sister. The male has bad hips ( at 9 months old ) and the female's hips might be bad ( vet said they look loose) but she also has a behaivoral problem. I have her at a trainers right now and he is having the same problem with her as we did. A friend also got a pup from the same litter. He had to be put down due to his hips being so very bad. Even they haven't gotten restitution from him. They all have other health issues also.
   The female I am not expecting anything for, unless her hips get worse. He can't control a dogs personality. That is the luck of the draw. But bad hips is another thing.
   All I want back is the money I paid for him.  We've spent a lot of money on vet bills and such, and I don't expect that back ... just the cost of the dog. I don't think that is being unreasonable.

I see no mention of any Hip/Elbow certification on the Challenger Farms site - looks like they do/test nothing of their breeding stock.

My 5 yr old male Trigger came from Challenger Farms. He's a big goofball with the softest coat you'll ever feel--wish I could clone him :)  (Had his hips done earlier this year with excellent results.)  Do you know the pedigree of those pups? Unusual to have 3 from the same litter with bad hips. Did you have x-rays done on both? My first GSD many years ago had severe HD. When I called the breeder to tell him he hung up on me. It really can be a heartbreaking experience.

I'm sorry you are having problems. Many years ago I went  through the heartbreak and expense (different breeder) of having a dysplastic pup, so I really feel for you. The breeder offered to give me another pup, but in order to get it I had to send my dysplastic pup back to the breeder to be euthanized and that was not an option for me and the dysplastic pup.

I actually inquired about a long coat pup at Challenger Farms a while back after seeing Triodegirl's gorgeous Trigger, but never acted on anything. Something concerned me, but I don't remember what. I am sure there have been some good dogs that have come out of there over the years. I'm not saying there hasn't.
Just that he doesn't stand up to his word.

I believe you, Ladyview. Larry has been less than honest with me on a few occasions over the past few years. He has a habit of mis-representing dogs by posting the wrong picture on his website or sending you a picture of one dog and telling you it's another. (Did it to me last summer ) Still glad I bought Trigger, though.
