I know what i want to do but want to make sure i am not seeing it the same as the vet.

Currently 3 of my dogs have recovered from Giardia thanks to Panacur. The other is doing another round and hoping that will help her.
Now just before this little sickly ordeal my male and female adults got into a go around with the female putting a decent amnt of stiches in the male. So he did 10 days of antibiotics for that. As he is a fairly big boy and he tried to bite the vet i think she is generally scared of him, although you would think being a vet and having a big needle jabbed in the leg of a hurt dog she would expect the incoming snap of the head that was going to happen when she shoved said needle in the leg...I dunno put a muzzle on him...Duh..

Anyhow she didnt check his mouth and he was laying beside me last night and i happen to catch a glimpse of something in his mouth. We'll he has what appears to be a fairly large abscess where one his front tooth is and or was..Obviously something from the fight.
His coat is also the worst i have ever seen it. He has already blown it and even then it never looks this bad...Its completly faded and falling out in chunks.
He gets salmon oil and vitamin e daily along with eggs weekly.

I WANT antibiotics to deal with the abscess. She says she wants to give his system a cpl weeks....REALLY a cpl weeks.
Well her argument is he is eating...Ya but his coat looks like crap and he wont let me get close to it so that leads me to believe obviously it bothers him.

I think time for a new vet??

Just wanna make sure i am not over reacting in any way.

Get him to another Vet asap! An abscess on a tooth or gumline is not something you play around with.

Anytime you give antibiotics you should give probiotics along with it.  I use Fastrack powder daily and the Fastrack Gel for an extra boost after antibiotics.  It really helps their system recover.

Thats what i figured....I was sure i read it can spread to there blood if you leave it. I am going to run him to another vet first thing in the morning:)

Poor guy what vet would think it was appropriate to leave him for a cpl weeks..

Danbee they are all on probiotics since this all begain. Some advice i got her as well lead me to that:)

Thanks everyone!

Please do the new vet the courtesy of adequately restraining your dog so he doesn't repeat "...the incoming snap of the head" the other vet had to counter.  If it's not possible for you to restrain the dog so he doesn't have the opportunity to bite the vet, then it's your responsibility to advise the vet if your dog needs to be muzzled or not.  Allowing your dog to snap at or bite the vet is a good way to get 'fired' from a practice.

I wanted to muzzle him as i knew he would snap. But due to where the injury was she wasnt "Originally" comfortable with muzzling him. I warned her loud and clear that he wasnt going to like this is any way shape or form. She procceded as i held his head and he snapped around to bite her.
So as far as i am concerned i gave her plenty of warning.
After that she did choose to muzzle him.

yep my male i bring my muzzle with me to the vet and muzzle him i personaly can do anything to him but other people he has never snaped but he stares at them with that shepherd stare so i just never want to take a chance his muzzle has his name on it and it take it in and make sure he is muzzled because the one vet i went to for a emergancy refuzed to let me hold him i guess they didnt think i was strongenough to hold him lol.... and so she took him into the back and had like 6 people hold him.... needless to say i never went to that vet again because he was just laying there not even fighting. she was just afraid of german shepherds.

Always bring a muzzle, just in case.......
