Hello, as i do realize that there is some sort of moderation for this site, i am getting confused. I do see threads beeing deleted, but yet if a member of this board asks for help to update his profile, he's left alone. Not only that there is no explanation given as for what reason a thread is deleted, no, it seems like this is done at random. What is even worse, it seems that, if certain intrests are harmed, deletion functions faster and more affectiv. Not a very good way to display democracy ! A member that trys to update his profile since about 2 month ! Kind Regards Ulli Dresbach

Please add these dogs to the database so that I may input my dog. Kira Vom Hausenfleck, female,AKC DL881064, Ariel Vom Hognadottir, female,AKC DL517917,Hans Vom Hognadottir, male,AKC D675435,Misty Blue Dinette, female,AKC DL416389. I hope this is the correct venue to make this request, I so admire this site and the effort you put out to maintain it. Please let me know if this is not the correct way to make this request. Thank You, Pam Powers

Pam, you should add the dogs yourself, if possible. That is what most of us do. And, the next time that you need to update a pedigree, title, etc. you will know exactly how to do it. I furnished instructions to someone else the other day, so I will do the same. One (1) caveat-DO NOT type in the quotation marks-I just use them to separate the character string. Here goes: The first thing that you should do is to see whether you can find any of your dog's ancestors in the pedigree database. If you can find your dog's sire or dam, then there is not much work to do. I do advise you to find those dogs, and make sure that your spelling matches exactly the names in the database. If you just need to register your dog, then here is the easiest way: Select "Register a Dog" Select "Sex" Enter full name of dog without any titles. Enter registry and number. Insert parents (here's where it becomes tricky). For the "Father's Name"-type "no information about the sire", and for the "Mother's Name"-type "no information about the dam". Enter achievements, if any. Enter work trials, if any. Enter date of birth. Enter HD results, if known. Enter colour. Enter height, if known. Now select "Continue". On the next page you will see "Eighth Step" For the father, it should say "Not Known" For the mother it should say "Not Known". Enter your e-mail contact address and select Register (dog's name) Now, find your dog the same way that you would look for any dog, and select "Ped Update". For Original Parent Information, you will see "no information about the sire". Enter the Sire's name exactly as it is spelled. For Original Parent Information, you will see "no information about the dam". Enter the Dam's name exactly as it is spelled. Then finish updating the pedigree. To register a dog whose parents are not in the database, you will need to register each dog in the pedigree as "no information about the sire" and"no information about the dam" and use the pedigree update to link them. Pam, give this a try first and see if it works. Bob-O

Hi Bob-O, we have been trying for months to register our young male on this database, both his parents are registered and their pedigrees are on the site, but we still cannot register him - we have tried following your instructions today, but still will not accept him - baffled to say the least, any other suggestions that we can try. All his pedigree is there, sire and dam and further back also. Checked spelling and it all matches - going mad here. Can you help? much appreciated if you can, thanks Aileen

I know that certain features of the site are occassionally locked while maintenance and repair is being done, but aside from that it usually works. Tell you what, send me a private e-mail will all of your boy's information, and I can give it a try later today. Just in case I a missing something in the instructions that I keep for myself. Bob-O

Everyone please excuse my typing, as I trying to deal with the "new" right hand that life has given me. As soon as I retrain two (2) fingers and a thumb I should be able to type correctly. It's embarrassing. Bob-O

Hi AileenJim, I tried to input your boy just 5 mins ago and it failed also, everything comes up with both parents etc but when you submit it comes up error. I have input loads of dogs before, so there seems to be a problem just now, hopefully this is short term and will be back up and running as normal soon. Heather Macdonald

Try to open another window for both sire and the the dam and copy paste them. That is the way how I registered my dogs.
