Hi all. How much yoghurt should I give my 25 lb puppy who is on a 3 week course of antibiotics? It has acidophillus in it.... I don't want to give too much as I am afraid that it will (combined with her kibble) give her too much calcium. Am I worrying too much? She DOES seem to love it! I have been giving a tablespoon now for 2 days. I am not noticing any tummy upset. Thanks

We use the probias to follow up the antibiotic so I will be anxious to hear the answer to your question. Good question.

Give her a tablespoon once a day. That should be fine. Giving her more will not hurt. The yogurt will do just fine to keep her intestinal flora correctly in balance. As far as giving too much Ca, you would have to be giving her lots of supplements. Ca in yogurt is minimal, especially in that tablespoon.

We make it a daily part of the food, each get about 2 ounces per day of plain yougert mixed with the kibble. They love it. For a puppy, the tablespoon a day sounds about right.
