If you had a chance to choose the sire and dam of all the dogs out there who would you pick for your dream litter and why?

by Ibrahim on 22 April 2011 - 18:04

Very interesting question, maybe if you specify the type it would be a bit easier.

perhaps I should have specified that.  Working lines.  Although if you are into show lines I would be curious to see that aswell.  For example after reading what some people have to say about Voodoo Hartis Bohemia he seems to compliment both working lines and show lines so Im just curious as to which lines some breeders would go with and why.

I do not breed, at least not yet and although I know quite few males in Germany through news, PDB and the net I know very few females, I come from the Middle East, so I won't be able to give a enough educated decision but would love to see replies from the experienced ones and from professional breeders, this will be an interesting thread, let's see !!

Non-living dogs count?  Or, two dogs from totally different eras?

Well when I thought of the question I was thinking of dogs from just the current era.  But if your dream combination includes a dog that has past lets see it.

I was hopeing that the breeders would have played allong with this one!!!

It's so much easier to pick the males, when historically we hardly know as much in comparison of the females, regarding what compliments and compensations they would provide.

The problem is.....there are many very nice dogs, and it is extremely hard to have the option to only choose 2.
Strong influences from *yesterdays/past* dogs....and some strong influences from the current era....very hard to choose.
I would love to bring certain dogs back....and combine with some of more current years.

Wallace Payne has a very intresting dog that he's working with, its half showline and half working line and hard as nails.......he's been known to take helpers down if they're not paying attention.

This dog embodies everything that's good in the GSD  - decent conformation AND superior drives. Maybe its what we should all be working towards?
