Hi everyone. I`ve just bought 100 kilos of grinded raw meat(chicken and beef) And i wonder if any of you have experience feeding raw to your dogs. Normaly i use RC german sheperd, so my wish i to combine these two methods of feeding, if it`s possible that is. Any advice is much appreciated. sincerely anna viktoria

I always suggest to folks to take a look at rawdogranch.com it is the most extensive site I have found for raw feeding. Has the spreadsheet that tells you the ratio or bone, to muscle to offal. I feed strictly raw, but folks i know who do both, just give raw one meal and kibble the next meal. Raw digests at a different rate than kibble.

I feed raw and have been for 8 years now. I will never go back to kibble. I try to buy my puppies from raw breeders... But sometimes to get a nice working puppy you cant. If you are going to feed raw and kibble both, do not mix it, feed raw in the morning and kibble at night or every other day or something like that. They digest at different rates... Also if your dog is not used to raw he may he loose stools. I would suggest getting something liek fastrack for a suppliment until he gets used to it. If you want more info on BARF you can look up Dr Bilinghurst on yahoo or buy his books. But there are different raw diets now. I would do a search on it and you can find A LOT of info. Good luck! jessica GSDBrisko@aol.com

I do not feed raw I see no need to my dogs do fine. I have no problem cooking 3 lbs of ground meat with onoins, celery, green beans, and carrots, makes its own gravy. Fed on top of the dry food with rice works very well, you can try it.

Onions are not good for dogs.

please seek information beyond this database. These people should be put down. I do not mean this metaphorically. They should be killed! This is an observation made from over a year of watching these imbiciles. I only wish I could kill every single one of them so they could not expand their foolish ideas.

ONIONS? be very careful! Onions consumed by dogs can cause hemolytic toxicity (sp). This is where the red blood cells which carry oxygen are destroyed. Dogs can go down very quickly. Reference material can be found in the Whole Dog Journal
