Why didn't I think of this before!
I was all by myself, but was determined to get a picture of Caroline outdoors, without her sniffing at the ground, my son wasn't around to help, so I had to think of something!

Here are some of the pictures I got!  I just found a stick that was just long enough and stuck a piece of roast beef on the end of it, she was drooling over it more than the cat!

lol I think that might work. But my dog is still young, and anything within reach, or even within sight he is lunging for it..

I've found positioning the camera first. then putting it on a timer to take a bunch of pictures after 10 seconds rapid fire while I stand in front of the dog with a toy and tell them to stay while I keep their head and ears forward and snap them works well.

Yes SchaeferhundSchH,

I was thinking of doing the timer too, great idea!

I did get some more pics of her after my son got home from school, and I think that, just because I can, the kid is going to take the pictures, so much easier!

Nice!  I like to practice stacking (I show even my working lines) and taking pics as the dogs grow, so I have to stack the dog and take the pic myself.  What I do lately is set a chair or something a little lower than nose level and put meat on it.  Then I use a wireless remote for my camera (cost about $12).  The remote gives me way more control than a timer.  I alert the dog to the meat, stack the dog, and then try to get as much of myself out of the pic as possible.  Not bad for a little 4 month puppy that doesn't know "stay", huh?

You can see I did have to erase my leg out of this one

Thanks Nellie!

Wow VKGSDs!  What a cute youngster, very nice marking & structure! Funny you talk about using a remote, Duh! I have one and hubby keeps saying, have you used your remote yet?

Time to try it out.

I'm getting more tips on how to take pictures from you guys, than you got from me!

I do have a few dogs that will stand-stay & not move an inch , but the younger dogs are a different story!
