Scammer's are so creative these days. I saw an ad for a protection trained German Shepherd for sale for $12,000. The owner is ill and want to sell dog asap. Owner requested transaction be done with Google Checkout for buyer's protection. If dog arrive and not to my standards, i have 7 days to decide if i want to keep dog or not. If not i can ship dog back to owner (per owner expense) prior to funds being release from Google.

Well, i sent $12,000 and never heard of him again. i did some searching and this is what i found:

And you paid $12000 for a $6000 dog?

Tell you what, if you send me $24000 I'll get your $12000 back for you.

 darylehret;
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it's a typo or they sent money for some other reason that was not explained completely in the post.

Greenman, I'll make you a deal you can't refuse. We're friend's, right? Now, if I do this for you, I may ask for a favor in return. Now, that day may never come, but if it does you cannot refuse my request.

I hope others considering buying an expensive dog take heed.

When spending that much, it's ALWAYS worth your while to spring a few extra hundred on a plane ticket to see for yourself and pick up the dog firsthand. You save on shipping when you accompany the dog, anyway.

Really sorry to hear about it.  You want to consider posting the name/source of the ad to help warn others.
