Just wanted to share this. We recently had a litter of puppies that needed to be treated for coccida. Our vet mentioned this to us. We got it through him but it can be ordered online. Its called Kocci Free. No prescription necessary. It really worked for us on our puppies.
Has anyone else heard of this or tried it?

I have used Crrid, liquid form from the feed store. 30cc per gallon of drinking water, treat for 10 days, test and retreat if nec.
I also heard of something else, will look for the info and forward it to you, the dosage is like 10th of a cc and is a 1 time treatment that kills all lifestages of the parasite. can even be given to moms after whelping.

Thanks Uberland for sharing. What you use would be good for older dogs, but not for young puppies still nursing. At least thats my way of thinking.

its called Baycox, I'll track down the correct dosage for puppies, I know its a 10th of a cc, but don't remember for how many lbs.

I can't find my email, but was forwarded info on Baycox, and it was said to be used on several day old puppies and the mother, no ill effects. as soon as I find out, I'll post it.

This product is given 1 time and it kills ALL life stages of Coccidosis.
This is how it is recommended to use:
When a female gives birth; DO NOT GIVE TO PREGNANT MOMMIES
Medicate mom and her puppies when the puppies are 3 to 5 days old.
This will kill anything mom has and anything that is incubating in the puppies.
Then the treatment is done again at 5 wks, 6 wks, 7 wks as per the course that other breeders are using to insure that recontamination does not allow Coccidia to rear it's head again.
The dosage is 1/10 of 1 cc per 1 lb again you only treat 1 time
It kills all life stages.
Very important notes!!
When you place an order no matter where you get it you must get the piglet coccidiocide it is 50g/L, because there is also a horse strength and the active ingredient is too strong to dose down for little puppies.

Corid would never be a drug of choice for treating coccidia in dogs . Baycox and Marquis[ ponazuril] also have limitataions albeit they say it kills all stages it must be used prior to symptoms to be effective , type of treatment depends on your situation I think treating adult dogs is fairly fruitless,

my vet recommended Corrid, and I've worked at several large kennels which used it as preventative.

really?? what kennels?? I cannot imagine anyone using that stuff its very bitter and they are very unwilling to drink it from I've been told, its very difficult to dose medications in water
