I have a 12 months female GSD. She sleeps in her crate every night, unless we are away for the night. I'm curious if it would be a good idea to let her sleep on her large pillow rather than her crate. Would she not want to go in her crate if I change her sleeping routine.

When I transitioned Pharaoh from sleeping in his crate, I took his bedding and toys out of the crate and placed it next to the bed where his crate had been. I put a collar and leash on him and tied it to the leg of the bed. After a couple of weeks, I stopped tying him and he was trust worthy. I kept the door to the bedroom closed to discourage wandering around the house. He is a really good sleeper and was not a problem.

what is wrong with a crate? it represents their natural cave.........?
i have 2 dogs that prefer down time in their crates.
if i they are "lucky dog" the are restless and keep everyone awake.
