Hey all - I need some advise on Panno. I have a 15month (ish) old, Male, GSD in my foster program. He is a VERY high drive dog and around Labor Day he began limping on the right front leg. We xrayed, nothing found and the Vet said it is most likely Panno (we also Lyme tested which was negative). We put him on Rimadyl and he had an intestinal problem so we stopped. We used Tramadol and it went away in a week or so. Now, he recovered from that but is very lame on the left front. The Tramadol is doing nothing this round. After the mess last time with the NSAID I am afraid to try that again.

SOOOO... my question is, does anyone have any other suggestions? It's been over a week now and is just as bad today as the first day I noticed.

Thanks

I have experience with panno, my male got it at 7 months and finally was over it at  2 years. it was off and on and the one thing that worked well was Ester C 1000mg a day. its cheap and works, but will take a week before he may be better. hope this helps...

first f all get another  vet  , if it is panno you can see it on the xray
secondly , if it is panno , put the dog on fresh meat and it will be gone in short time , panno is mainly a result of wrongly balanced non natural adittions in dogfood

panno usually shows clearly on the long bones Sounds like the vet is guessing.

Haven't dealt with it in quite a few years. Low protien diet ant the vit. c is what was recommended then. Never tried the raw, but worth looking into.

You might give a Prilosec about 20 minutes before feeding dog with the Nsid.  I am NOT a vet.
