If you take the time to read her post correctly you will see she said that the bitch is spayed and is not breeding her, she just wanted advice on coat.
Normal by the way, certainly not long stock coat

Some of the showline dogs get a long fringe of hair on their bellies and back of the legs in the wintertime. My bitch does this. I don't have a good picture of her with this sort of coat (okay, i trimmed it before taking her picture!), but if you look at her sire, you can see it there:

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/476201.html

He has a very heavy winter coat in this picture, as he is kenneled outside.

I've heard some people refer to this as a the longer version of a stock coat. In her case, she also has a very poor undercoat.

Her sire is not a long coat, though, nor has he thrown long coated progeny.

Perhaps this is the sort of coat that the OP's dog has?

This pic (re. Sunsilver) is a better representation of her coat.  She is actually kenneled indoors year round, but hers is just as heavy in the winter months.  Even in the summer it is quite heavy and "poofy" for lack of a better term.

Thanks for the input.  I'm not sure I'm clear on things - but it sounds as if there is a lot of debate about the subject anyhow.

++She was described to me as a "long-stock" coat by someone who spoke German and read her pedigree/KKL paperwork and as a "plush" coat to +++

The bitch looks like a stock coat period. And the other dog link does as well. Plush is just  a term used that means nice coat but its stock coat and usually nice undercoat..not mole like or too short..its nothing official just slang.

I hope you are happy and love your dog many  happy years to you both.  Both dogs shown are very nice looking. although somewhat different in type.

Geez buzz, i'm certified ADD. Ain't no way I'm taking the time to read all that s**t.

The bitch is KKL1, which means in laymans terms. that she is not a long coat, has no missing teeth and has passed an SV breed survey. Really don't know what else needs to be said.
