Funky Heat Cycle (Split and Silent together) - Page 1

I have a coming 3 y/o bitch that cycles every 4 months, is in heat for 4 weeks, never ovulates(got to 3.5 on the progesterone test), shuts down, and may come into a silent heat 4 weeks later.  She has done this twice now, and I think she may be having a split heat combined with a silent heat.
The only signs of the silent heat are a clear discharge from the vulva and my fat and lazy neutered male gets seriously interested in her for 3-4 days and she appears receptive to him.  Has any had this happen with any of their bitches?

i have had one female have the split cycles and her true heat is on the second time not first. i would be checking her progestrone as if  when your male is intrested that may be the time even if its very short. my female is now have longer cycles so who knows if she almaost done at 5 years. i always say the males know.............
