At what age do you microchip and/or tattoo your puppies?

I think tattoos are done at 7 weeks. You might check with the local breed warden.

I try to do microchips at 4 weeks... but usually end up doing them at 7-8 weeks because I need to wait for a holder:)

I had Nikon microchipped about 10 weeks I think.  He was tattoo'd about 12 weeks.  We took some pups to a different breeder who does tattoos b/c at the time my breeder didn't do it herself (now she does).  Otherwise I think most breeders do it right before they go home.

I do it at 8 weeks before they go to the Vet but I know a lot of people do them much younger if they are doing genetic testing so they can tell who is who they reccomend doing them at a couple weeks for the CNM /EIC testing ,one of my Vets does them really early because they test them all for Von Willebrands status { Dobes} people may start doing it wil the GSD for the DM that way you have time to get the results before they are ready to go home, I just submitted a DM test I'm not how long it takes to get results

Tattoo between 7 and 8 weeks.  I microchipped the litter about the same time before they left for new homes.

I do both the same day, 7-10 weeks. Actually, JACKIE does the m/chips. I don't have the stomach for that big needle.
