Hi folks,

I would like some feedback on the following x-rays of a 2.5 year old female.  I apologize for the picture quality, I was using my digital camera to take a picture of the x-ray films in the vet's office.  I tried using a flash and not using a flash.  The picture came out better using a flash, but I included one shot of the hips without a flash because you can see the positioning better.

It looks to me like the kneecaps are not straight (no "bulls-eye") so the legs are turned out a bit.  I mentioned this to the vet but he said it was ok.

Comments please?  TIA!

With flash (that's the large bright circle)

 Thanks y'all!  :)

If you mean the ones on our "right" (looking at the picture) I agree (but I'm no expert at all).

Do ppl think the positioning is ok enough to send in?  Some x-rays taken right after she turned 2 were positioned better but don't look quite as good, she was just going into heat.

Thanks, that's really great to hear!!!  So no one thinks I should ask the vet to redo them to get the legs positioned better?  If no one says so, I'll go ahead and let the vet know to send these in.

If you look at the pelvis in the xrays you can see she is aligned correctly. One side is not more oval than the other. I think the right hip (in the xray) sits in the socket more than the left (in the xray).   I have no clue what I am looking at when it comes to elbows so any goes with those.

the positioning looks ok to me, yes the knees should be turned in so kneecaps are centered more, but overall the positioning is "good enough".  IMO the hips look just fine - definately passing IMO "good" for OFA.  I can't read elbows, sorry.

 Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for your input!  I am pleased to announce that I got the OFA results back, and Onni's hips are "Good" and the elbows "Normal"!  Yay!
