My girl is starting her 5th week into pregnancy tomorrow. this is her 2nd litter.

so far her stomach had got a little big and hard. Even on an empty stomach in the mornings her stomach is hard. How can i palpate and see if there are pups in her.

I think it would be hard to do at that stage, either pull a blood test or just wait another week

The best time to palpate for puppies is at about day 24  to 27.  At this time they are about he size of a pingpong ball.  Any older and they are generally too big to really feel them.  However, at 5 weeks you should be able to get an ultrasound and if the veterinarian is good he can count them for you with ultrasound......BUT the vet HAS to be good at it!
