Are the longhair GSD going to accepted at the SV's rings in 2010?

by SitasMom on 13 January 2010 - 17:01

long hair WITH undercoat will be accepted into a special long hair registry books of the SV starting January 2010.

long hair with undercoats may be bred to only the same.

any long hair with undercoat from regular coat dogs and from regular coated dogs  may be registered into these books.

they will have their own shows, own books, etc.   seems like the sv is thinking about creating a new breed of GSD.

these are long stock coats...

So how are you going to register a long coat in a litter with all other coats being stock coats?  This does not make any sence at all.

You will register your long coat pup under the SV long coat registry. The SV will have a totally seperate registry for the long coats. I would imagine that the parents must both be titled, as well as have passing hip scores, just as with the stock coats. I hope this helps.

So you will have pups from the same litter registered differently??

Yes, you will have pups from the same litter registered with two different registries (if you have both long coats and stock coats), although both will be registered through the SV. At least that is what I last heard and read.
