Well, xeph, when was the last time an evangelical Christian went to England and demanded a complete overhaul of the judicial system? When was the last time an evangelical Christian went to intern at a hospital and demanded to be able to wear their long flowing sleeves while taking care of patients? When was the last time a Christian refused a service dog in their taxi?
When was the last time a Christian had a hard on for taking down planeloads of innocent people, in the name of allah?
What other religion brutally murders people that draw pictures of their evil god?

Well, for the first two I couldn't tell ya, because I ignore you.  For the third, it was just a few months ago for me, if the person was indeed a Christian.  For the 4th that clearly doesn't even matter since Christians don't believe in Allah, and for the last, I personally think all Gods are evil if they exist so it's a moot point

Thank you!  Drives me nuts when people spell it wrong too (It is indeed moot, not mute).  Wander vs wonder is another one that drives me nuts.  You can not wander about what your friend is doing, and you cannot (well, technically speaking) wonder through the woods.

Again Hamza, I am so glad you started this thread, now we all have a little bit better understanding of the truth regarding Islamic faith and dogs, thanks to you and Ibrahim.  I find people of the Islamic faith to be just like people of any faith - some like dogs and some don't.  My Persian sister in laws are this way, one loves dogs, she has a lovely  Weimaraner bitch.  The other can't stand dogs, from the time her kids were small if they touched a dog she ran over and washed their hands.  Has nothing to do with their Islamic faith.   Same thing with their extended family, some have dogs, some don't.

Just wanted to comment to Xeph...People using words interchangeably that aren't, bother me, too.  Nice to see when someone knows how a word should be used and when it should not be used.

Ibrahim and Adi...you both have good senses of humor...An asset to this board and I'm glad you are here.

GSDRULE:  I don't care for a lot of facets of Islam, as I understand it.  That said, there are so many varieties of every religion I've ever heard of, from passive to extremists, and everything in between.  Muslims can hardly be targetted for that.  As for Sharia law, I have yet to actually have a Muslim confirm or deny whether this in fact exists, for me.  I have read accounts that are supposedly by Muslim women, but we all know how reliable the internet is, and how true most of what we get by email is.  That said, if it does exist, it's most likely not practiced by all Muslims, just a faction, or group.

There's no point in debating which religion sucks and which does not...There are as many viewpoints as people.  I consider myself to be a Christian, and yet there are many facets of organized Christianity today that I find nearly intolerable. 

The information on whether dogs are unclean or not in Islam is an interesting issue.  Although it has been stated here that only the scavenger dogs are unclean, and not the dogs bred to serve a purpose, it seems to make sense to me that some Muslims might still consider all dogs unclean, hence the experience of some on this board, perhaps because they don't know their own religion as well as they should.  It happens with Christians and others all the time, and Hamza himself was unsure of certain tenets of Islam. 

Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
