I clicked on, after not bothering for a couple of days, and what do i find, more bitching, this time over a clash of dates between a "koreung" and a breed show, i can emphathize with both sides, but surely if we cant agree on something as trivial as this, we are doomed?
I have written many times that we need to be seen to be capable of self government, without the need for either KC  approval or patronization, the caveat being, that we are actually capable of governing, i have long been of the opposite view.
Once again the silence of the supposed GSD partnership is deafening, how can we expect the KC to have any respect for us, when all that they see, hear and read about us is in the negative mode.

I have advocated for some time that the GSD partnership should have complete control over all major decisions regarding  the British GSD show scene, and every thing that it encapsulates, ie . Breed surveys, selection of judges, implementing and  enforcing  mandatory breed guidelines etc.  and more importantly making sure that to the outside world we are seen to be singing from the same hymn sheet.   It  remains to be seen whether the incumbents who " rule " at present are up to the task, if not it is up to you and your breed clubs to decide on changes, because make no mistake about this very serious issue........... time is running out,  if it is left to stagnate as at present,  it wont be long before we dont have to worry.......   because there wont be any shows to worry about,    and wont that be a crying shame?

  Regards,
  Paul Rattigan.

Behind some of the smiley faces and apparently pleasant character lurk very sharp teeth.

Paul – couldn't agree with you more. The lack of co-ordination is appalling, politics and personalities are getting in the way of what should be a very simple development. The Partnership is not a Partnership – it is a collection of personalities with individual views. There is no consultation with members – surely a MUST in such an important stage of the development of the organisational structure.
We, the club members, ARE the clubs – we vote on our committee members and we should be making our voices heard directly to the committees.
We only have ourselves to blame for the current state of affairs – so come on guys, write to your Council, EC or committee and ask them why they are not all working together to sort things out.

Paulie, It related to money.

Sue, that's really good news - which I have only just heard.
How is it going to be publicised - I know where it is going to be because I'm on a committee of a breed club, but there are literally dozens of people out there who don't.  I hope the breed clubs will inform their members of this unique opportunity as soon as possible.

Hi Alyson and Paul et all,
As far as I am aware, apart from it being sent to ALL BREED CLUB SECS as part of the Breed Council Agena stuff (which puts the emphasis on club committees informing their members surely?), it is also going to be in the Oct BC mag and mentioned in the Breed Notes of both weekly dog papers. ANYONE who doesnt subscribe to or read any of the above, i.e Breed Club Member, BC Mag, Dog World or Our Dogs is really not someone who deserves to be at this meeting (in my opinion that is !!).
See you there Alyson and Paul.
All the best
Sue
