Our recently retired police dog (almost 8 yrs old) needs to be adopted out. Imported from The Netherlands and was titled there. All black, 80 pounds, very social, kept in house, good with kids, still lots of energy-spunk, could be worked as a sport dog as well. Won national awards and many departmental commendations for his work on the streets. Retired due to handler resigning and chose not to be kept with a new handler due to age. I am the former handler who originally trained with him but have two GSD's now who don't like the police K9 much. Leave me a note below and I can answer any other questions how to contact you. We are in Michigan.

I hope you find a suitable home for him and he enjoys his retirement in a forever pet home.

Remaxalot,
I run the Green Country Working Dog Assistance League
It is a retirement situation for working K-9's. If you can not place him I do have space available. I have taken in retired working dogs that would have met a fate that they did not deserve! If he would enjoy working still I do trial my dogs at our local Schutzhund club regularly and would not mind as I am between dogs right now. My competition dog is retired now(He qualified 4 times for the DVG National Championship) and I am searching this year for my next competition prospect.
I am located in Oklahoma but can meet to pick him up if needed. I am familiar with strong working dogs, have competed at the National Championships in Schutzhund, I recently took in a Malinois who was surrendered to the German Shepherd Rescue that was trained in all 12 explosives odors and apprehension by Lackland AFB so I am no stranger to the working dog. He was still young and we were able to place him with a small police department in Arkansas for a extremely nominal fee for such a nice dog, it was STRICTLY an adoption situation!
Let me know if I can be of service.
Sincerely,
Vickie

Hello,
We are very interested in your retired police dog. I also sent you an email and would be very happy to talk with you and even travel to meet you.
Sending me an email is the best to contact me at this time as I am in Northern Wisconsin and do not get great phone service. If you email me your number I can go to town and call you from there.
Thank you, Mitch

We could consider taking in the retired K-9, where are you located? Being a retired k-9 handler I have experience with actual working dogs. We are on several acres in the country and it would be a home with things to keep him active. Will send you an email.
