Hand targeting with food transitioned into targeting a bite bar under the armpit. The important thing to mention is he's taught to do this with compulsion. Theres a fine line between a dog doing heelwork for a reward and doing heel work because he knows he absolutely has to but if he does he will get a reward.

Just uploaded the Protection phase. The worst protection score he's ever got. Still... 93/100 not bad for a worst ever score!

The weather was atrocious!!! Below freezing and driving sleet 
On top of that Dad was suffering really bad that weekend from the flu and almost couldn't go through with the protection round he was so ill...
The judge and the helpers were out in it all day - they deserve medals! In fact, most judges and helpers deserve medals. Most of the time its a thankless job.

fozzie, that weather went beyond atrocious!
it's hard to go out and present a nice happy
upbeat overall picture when you are freezing
your n*ts off!
And yes, one has to feel bad for the helpers
and the judge, being out in that icey cold wet
all day takes it's toll on you.
Congrats again, nice videos to watch, the
dog and handler work very well together!
By the way, very nice breeding behind your dog
as well
