I seriously think this is a matter of Opinion....Everyone has their own idea of what they like and what they think Is best...I just don't understand how anyone can argue and say their opinion is the correct one. Everyone is correct in their own right....Thats not as hard for some people to understand. Its just a matter of accepting it...

I had working line, show line and working/show cross.  Each one has awesome things to offer..

JUST MY OPINION....

One awesome thing you can get from a showline?  Because, I can't think of any.  Please don't say "correct" conformation.  Your version of "correct" conformation probably couldn't perform a task like below, I doubt any VA1 dog ever could.  I would bet even a 4 foot hurdle would be quite a problem for many of those dogs.

I have everything to learn about showline dogs, but sadly refuse.  Can't say I've ever seen one, or even a photo of one clearing the hurdle.  Ya gonna educate me?

With what I know about showlines, why would I?  They ought to divorce the breed IMO.

I gotta say I have a female with American showline in her blood. She is everything I personally want in a dog. And that is the key. "That I personally want". Wouldnt doubt she could do just about anything that I have the knowledge to ask her. Can she perform bite work like a working dog should? I honestly dont think she can compare. I love my dog and get tired of hearing how useless showline are. I learned the difference between opinion and fact in the 3rd or 4th grade. Makes a lil bit of difference.

I say mix the shit out of them until we are all on the same page again. I gotta say, it is AWESOME to watch a working line shepherd do their magic on the field with the intensity of their biting, the speed in their tracking and the precision in their obedience. That shit is fun as hell to watch! But to be honest, in the real world I personally don’t have much use for a dog that can scale a fence. I’m a jogger and jog daily. The working lines in my kennel are just not built for this type of work and can’t handle jogging for a very long time. They tire out way too quickly from using up too much energy. The showlines on the other hand can go all damn day! And it is just as awesome to witness the efficiency in their trotting. This breed is the best trotting breed ever made. Somebody knew what they were doing when they made this breed that is for sure. And all you ladies out there, who the hell would wanna mess with ya if you took your shepherd jogging with you. I ain’t never heard of anybody being messed with when they had a shepherd with them. All you need to do is get your shepherd to bite on command and you’re good to go. Ain’t NOBODY gonna mess with ya!

I guess it all depends on what your intended use of the breed is. To each his own I always say.

By the way, both of those pictures are beautiful! Thank you for posting them. This really is the best breed ever made isn’t it? I’m sure the Captain would be very proud of both of his children.
