Can anyone tell us what dewormer to use to kill ALL types of worms excluding heartworms for our beloved breed? Has anyone use ANTIOX human dewormer to your dogs? My vet recommend antiox to give 3 tablets (one time). How often do you deworm your dogs? Thanks.

Most of us give heartworm preventative once a month - some have other wormers in them for hooks, rounds and whips.... like Interceptor Why are you separating heartworms..are they not a concern for you?? What do you use?? I use Ivomec in a small dose for heartworms and then every 3rd month I use a larger dose which should take car of everything else.. Tapeworms will require their own wormer and can be given as necessary.. Have never heard of Antiox.. sorry

I used to give Heartgard plus to all my dogs but have just recently stopped because of news that they make the dogs sterile which I have observed to be true since my females are not getting pregnant & my males are not making the females pregnant. I am still under observation & lets see what happen next.

And what was the source for that info?? I have never heard that and use Ivomec (ingredient in Heartgard, BTW) and have never had issues... have a litter of 6 pups right now out of a bitch who has been getting Ivomec her whole life.. she is 7, now... I don't give it after a breeding and until pups are done nursing, but use it all year long otherwise. Have your dogs seen a reproductive specialist or has a normal stud dog maintenance been done on your males to check for sperm quantity and quality.. how about bacterial and fungal labwork?? Do you progesterone test your females, I swear by that... have had pregnancies every time that way.. often the ovualtion date is not what we think it is and therefore we think ther eis a problem when we are breeding the wrong day..... What are you using instead of Heartgard?? surely you have not stopped all Heartworm preventative?? the alternative is very scary....

Wok, My vet recently provided me with a 'spot on solution' which is designed to treat and/or prevent Fleas, Larvae, Hookworm, Whipworm, Roundworm, Heartworm, Otodectes, Sarcoptes and Demodex. It is calles Advocate and is manufactured by Bayer. It is expensive however. I can't comment on the effectiveness and/or any side effects yet.
