DebiSue

by DebiSue on 11 June 2009 - 19:06

Quasi male (testicles failed to drop) not sure of age.  Not sure of age, hard to tell as it acts like a spoiled 3 year old.  Breeding questionable, one butt ugly animal.  Background questionable, probably less than desirable.  No papers were provided when requested.  Cow hocks, bad elbows, undershot bite, weak in more than just the pasterns.  Bad case of mange as it is constantly scratching and biting at anything without prodding.  Incontinent in addition to it's diarrhea of the mouth, drools constantly, slobbers when barking.  Often goes off barking at nothing in particular, just likes the sound of its own voice reverberating in its empty cranium.  Bark is definately worse than its bite as it has few teeth.  Also suffering from huge callouses on its butt from dragging it so thinking the anal glands need a good working over.  Didn't have the heart to euthanize it even though highly recommended by more than one party.  Can anyone help with this problem animal...I haven't given it a name yet...does anyone have any suggestions?

Just be kind and put the thing to sleep . We can't save them all . I learned that from a wise women who used to post here . The only name I can think of is Useless if you decide to not euthanize the thing .

I agree. You are not likely to find anyone willing to take on this dog as a rehab and he is clearly suffering in the meantime. Triage. Use the resources for a dog that can be saved.

Does it also have very pale, faded pigment?

Hmmm....I think a long walk on a short dock is in order. If it can swim, tie it to a cement block.

Oh, no, a pigment problem on top of the temperament and health issues? Yep, PTS, the sooner the better. It really is for the best for him and everyone around him.
