People are always telling us to "spay or neuter" my dog. Which is better? I've heard good things about both. Which is safer? If I spay my dog, does this mean I can't neuter him in the future? I just want to do what's best for him. Thanks!

Are you serious? If you are... Neutering is removing the testicles of a dog. Spaying is the removal of the uterus of a bitch.

The Safest and Surest way is to "SPEUTER".

Again, this is a reference to a bit from the movie "Best in Show"--the insipid 'color' anchorperson asks this question of the dog show expert who's co-hosting the coverage of the big dog show... If you haven't had a chance to see this movie, rent it ASAP. It's spot-on for many of the folks seen around the show circuit, and applicable to folks found at various canine trials, too. And one more thing--Isn't it interesting that there are only two nuts named after people--Hazel, and Filbert? ;)

News people can ask very weird questions. A reporter sitting next to me (as we were watching a corneal transplant in a bald eagle) turned to me and asked: "Has this animal been sedated in any way?" ;-)

Thanks! You guys have been great! Just to be on the safe side, we're going to Speuter. Oh, and see "Best In Show" right away! "Rhapsody has two mommies!"
