I DID START TO BUILD A WEB SITE FOR ALL GSD SHOWS CHAMPIONSHIP AND OPEN AND ALL BREED OPEN SHOWS WITH GSD CLASSES.
I KNOW THERE ARE SEVERAL VERY GOOD BREEDER SITES WITH CHAMPIONSHIP AND OPEN BREED SHOWS ON THEIR SITES,
BUT THERE IS NOT ONE SITE THAT COLLATES ALL THIS IMFORMATION.
FOR THIS REASON I STARTED BUILDING A SITE WHICH IS NOT LINKED WITH ANY BREEDER OR CLUB, THAT WOULD NOT ONLY LIST THE LARGER WELL KNOW SHOWS BUT ALSO THE SMALLER OPEN SHOWS, AS WE ALL KNOW THERE IS OFTEN TWO OPEN SHOWS IN THE SAME AREA WITH THE ENTRIES SPLIT BETWEEN THE TWO SHOWS.
THIS SITE COULD HAVE BEEN USED BY CLUBS TO CO-ORDINATE THE OPEN SHOW AND MAYBE PLAN FUTURE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS SO WE ONLY HAVE ONE OR TWO IN THE SAME MONTH.

UNFORTUNATLY I HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THE SITE DUE TO CLUB REFUSING TO PASS ON THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO SET UP THE SITE.

Dear God!!!!

Nice to know we're all working together................ as usual.  I'm sorry that your efforts fell on such stony ground.  Thanks for trying.

The majority of GSD Clubs, and consequently the National organisation they belong to, the GSD Breed Council, continue to damage our breed Show scene through NEGLECT.

Working together
is essential to bring about positive prospects for our breed. Clearly the reasons for the Breed Council being DYSFUNCTIONAL go much further than the obvious failures of the BC elected officers.

PLEASE NOTE THIS WEB SITE I WAS BUILDING WAS COMPETLY FREE AND NO CHARGES WERE ASKED FOR FROM CLUBS.

So where do we go from here if breed clubs dont give a monkeys about the clashing of gsd shows i think that it shows the true state of our breed  its the im alright jack attitude that is what is killing our breed what time or effort would have been needed to supply the info required  not very much what would the outcome be if that info was passed on  immense   why take on a position on a committee if you are not prepared to give it the time it needs  could it be to many power junkies.

Jim h. They only like it when you write about their work being voluntary and without them we would not have any Breed Shows, and all their hard work involved in running a show. You daren't point out that most breed club CH. shows are only every two or three  YEARS, and the system for entries and catalogues are well established by previously organised shows, as are venues, catering, facilities etc.

In fact I now risk being told to get off my fat arse and do something myself, simply because that is the usual response to anyone who find fault or criticises.

What they do NOT do, is Analyse the critical comments and obvious faults and mistakes, see if there is any truth in them, and even examine why some clubs hold very successful shows, and take positive steps to rectify their own failings wherever possible.Oh no! That would be just too obvious.

In the meantime I don't understand why some of our GSD breed clubs don't give up their CC status and therefore provide us all with a real opportunity of our greater GSD Breed Clubs holding a Championship Show
EVERY YEAR.

Another nail in the coffin of our hobby, how many times does it need to be said  APATHY, APATHY. APATHY.

We are pi...ng against the wind. I have a feeling that the only reason some people are on Club Committee's is so that they get to pick their friends to judge, knowing that arrangement will be Reciprocated, or worse still ,so that they can suck up to the  visiting Judges  who officiate at their show. Thank God that there are still some club officials out there that genuinely care, and who work very hard to give us some super shows, and even though i agree with David Payne on his comments about replacing some of our so called "LEADERS " putting some of these  apathetic committee people into positions of leadership, is rather like the Titanic taking  on board survivors of a shipwreck.

   Regards Paul.

Like other GSD exhibitors, I am now seriously considering enjoying my GSD without any involvement with the GSD Show scene. There comes a time when perseverance is futile and you have to realise just how high the odds against meaningful and sustained progress really are.

Our breed show scene is clearly doomed, the rate of disintegration is accelerating with no signs of a National strategy for its future. The Kennel Club doesn't offer much hope, and the GSD Breed Council along with the majority of its GSD Breed Club members offer NO HOPE AT ALL.

Our so called GSD leaders have now been exposed as being akin to eunuchs in a brothel, useless!

Paul, you are absolutely right.  "Backscratching" appointments and tickets have to stop.  I agree, that some committee members are strictly self serving, leaving the rest to do all the real work.  It's the "glory / perks" that they're after... not the advancement of our breed, on a voluntary basis!

Can i ask myfanwy if any clubs at all contacted him re this web site i am wondering if it could be that not all clubs know about the new site and if this is the case it should be brought up at the next BC meeting so that every one knows that their is a site to help stop the clashing of shows     i would think that their will be at least one member of every club that has access to the internet so an email can be sent with all detals needed
