Do the AKC and UKC even care who is a registered breeder anymore?  This guy is an avid dog fighter and even has pics on his Facebook page and still he maintains his AKC/UKC registration.

They claim they do but just look around at what some people are breeding and then you know it's all about the money......................

I agree to a point BUT,, this guy lives in Indonesia so why are you starting something about AKC/UKC?

Also, AKC & UKC are organizations who keep records of pedigrees and hold competitions. They are not clubs who accept members. So unless this guy was in the US and bred more than 10 litters in a year or had complaints OR were a registered kennel, they would never know anything anyway.

K-9mom,

I am not sure I understand the first part of your post.  I am bringing it up because he is officially listed with both organizations as a registered breeder.

Anyway the point is that multiple people have complained about this guy to both organizations and nothing has been done.  The AKC and UKC were provided with video of an actual dog fight and a video of a cat being thrown in with his fighting dog for a demonstration of its killing ability, that are both posted on Danny Lie's facebook account.  They were also provided with countless photos of mauled dogs and numerous postings from Danny Lie in regards to his business.  I realize that dog fighting is legal in indonesia, but I cannot believe that the AKC or UKC has no issue being linked to this individual.  Furthermore, the AKC doesn't even recognize pitbulls as a breed so it's obvious that he has falsified documents in order to be registered at all.

I was well aware of the reputation of both organizations and I know that to many people, these registrations mean nothing.  Puppy mills are nearly always AKC registered.  However, I think listing an actual dog fighter as a registered breeder crosses the line and then some.

Why would they care about a legal activity taking place in another country?

For the same reason an organization here in the US would not want to be associated with someone who is a slave-trader in a country where that activity is still legal--you can tell a lot about a person or group by the company he/they keep.

Presuming that the initial poster has supplied accurate info, I think they're referring to a registered *kennel* designation with both the AKC and UKC.  If this individual retains a registered breeder/kennel status with both groups despite both organizations having been provided with proof of his involvement with dog fighting, would YOU want to be associated with him by virtue of being on a list of registered breeders from one or both of these organizations?

So this guy lives in Indonesia according to his Facebook Page you provided, I see a few pics of Pit Bulls but nothing more. You know the AKC & UKC have him registered as a breeding kennel? Believe me, I find dog fighting and their persons vulger but I need to see proof of something. His name is not ringing a bell to me but I could be mmissing something. You are correct, AKC does not register Pit Bulls so I don't understand how you say he is an AKC Registered breeder.

Maybe it's just all going over my head????

Hexe, we're talking about the AKC. You make it sound as if we're talking about an organization with ethics!

Plus, dog fighting is only abhorred in certain areas/cultures. It's quite narrow-minded (a typical American affliction) to think that other countries and cultures find it as disgraceful as we do.

Again, I repeat...why would they care what some guy does in Indonesia?
