Recently I saw an aluminium scaling wall or A-Frame for sale from a purveyor of schutzhund equipment. It was pretty expensive. Has anyone had any experience with this product. I guess its been out for about 1 year now. The reason my friends and I are interested is that it is supposed to be light-weight and sturdy--so the advertising goes. (of course it wouldn't say it was heavy and weak) Anyway, we train in a public park and would need to haul the thing from someone's home back and forth. Hence the interest.

Hi Gert, www.CastleK9.com used to supply alot of walls jumps, hurdles etc. in a lightweight fiberglass type material, dont know if they still carry these products/not on their web. Also try www.Dopedog.com/store they carry some products.

My friend has one and loves it.. I have considered it myself for the very same reasons you stated.. However, she did say it took forever to get the thing and her experience witht the company was not one she would recommend....

I have a friend that has a 4 piece alum. one that is an official Schutzhund build. I will try to get the name of the supplier, it's not the one listed above. It was around $700. Only down side was really poor packing, and they replace first one at no charge and paid to ship it back because of freight damage. Norma is tiny and can take this wall down and set it up herself. WT-METAL makes one as well. The angle adjustment is a single bar in the center of the jump. Several dogs used it without movement or incident. Kyle

Thanks all for your information. I will check out the website and so forth. The one I saw is from Active Dogs in Wisconsin. I don't think they make it. They have it listed for $799 which is pretty price. I'd want it to last a long, long time at the price. And, of course, it would have to be light enough for one person to pick up and put in a van or small truck. As for Dope Dogs, our of Ohio I think, I went to their website, and although they claim to have one for sale, they actually don't show one. Further I can't recommend them as I bought a ball holder from them a while back (to teach the Voraus) and they sold me a used one with a part missing. They claimed that it was new, only used one at the USCA Schutzhund Nationals as a sales demo. But they did not offer to give me a new one (because I don't think they had one) They offered to find me the missing part, but they never did. Again thanks, Gertrude

activedogs.com does make aluminum scaling walls and they are in stock to ship as they are the designer and maker of the walls. I have used one for a year and it works great and I can move it easily when I mow the yard.
