Jantie, I totally agree with you. Sieger dog should not be repeated as there is nothing left to be proved. Also without a substantial top class progeny the dog should not be allowed VA title. Now a days this is th emajor issue everyone is raising. I think seeing Karat's Yoker progeny he should have been up in VA. Then there is Yak Frankengold also superb progeny. I think for Nando and Quenn it is too early to be VA. Anyway it is my opinion no offence both these dogs are equally good.

Hi, Intresting topic, few things are already mentioned up there, Age Factor,Progeny, beside this after winning the crown twice and getting dam good offers from abroad, no one will risk a third try... Germans do not waste time with a dog which they do not consider worth keeping after crowned twice as a sieger, they have future plans and they get to work on them

Hi Sumo, I forgot to mention the following: You wrote: "Sieger dog should not be repeated" I have to add: "But it WILL be repeated!", and sooner than you think. Quenn vom Löher Weg will be the next double Sieger. He might just miss the title this year, because of his age and not sufficient progeny; then will go ahead and beat all the competition twice in a row (that is if he stays healthy of course and produces well). The other candidates (that will be there again) are just too... "feminine". Quenn looks like a Greec statue. One will have to beat him. Orbit vom Hühnegrab could be a match, but as he never competes...

I agree with Imran as Germans are thorough professionals they will not waste time with one dog. But dont you think becoming sieger thrice will also be a achievement in itself. The name of the owner and breeder will be written in golden letters in the history. I do not understand what is the risk in third try? Do you mean if the dog looses third time his name will be spoiled? Jantie, Quenn is my favourite too. I am trying to have a puppy from him. I wholehertedly wish he should become a sieger. double sieger will be the icing on the cake.Today I think he has competition from Marco and Zamp. There type is different not as masculine looking like Quenn but both are producing some nice dogs. Orbit Huhnegrab certainly will pose a competition to Quenn if he competes and produces well. Quenn I think is a superb combination of Ursus and Ulk line. Both are my favourite dogs. Ulk for movement and Ursus for the maculinity and his trademark head. Best of luck to Quenn.

There was an attempt for a dog to go sieger 3 times, but the dog did not compete in the end. It could happen but that's a long peroid of time to cover.

Alf v. Nordfelsen went VA2 at age 5 and VA1 at age 6 largely based on his progeny. Years ago I was told he had a stabilizing effect on his off-spring. ecs

What would be the point to having a male three times Sieger? What would it accomplish? Nothing is the answer! The German 'Sieger' System is designed to promote dogs for their Excellence in Type, combination of bloodlines and ability to pass on that type to their progeny. Once a male has achieved 'Sieger' status his bloodline has already been extensively used, with a second 'Sieger' title his blood would be reaching saturation point and it is time to move on to the next generation of bloodlines and rightly so. Who needs a three times Sieger, boring.... Zamp or Quenn would certainly bring more of a smile to my face. Regards Sue B

Yes it is certainly boring but then why dogs are selected 4 or even 5 times as VA's. SV should make rule regarding that also. So more dogs will get chance to show their calibre and new bloodlines can become famous.
