Germany seems to be closer and closer to Australian breeders... Let see the results, comments and slide show about this great GSD event : http://www.aniwa.fr/en/chien/Grand_Public/document/102350/122660/index.htm FH

Interesting how many imported males, hardly any imported females... Thanks for the links. Hope they stay.

We have been lucky in Australia that so many of the imported males have been sensibly and judiciously used by our breeders. Many of them have nicked very well with our bloodlines. Some of course hardly ever get used and fade into oblivion and some produce poor hip or elbow results and are deliberately avoided. For some reason in the last 12-18 months, we seemed to have a rush of imported males, to the point where it was hard to keep up with them all! Breeders DO import lovely bitches, but most of them are brought in for breeding and may have short show careers, but their progeny may go on to do great things. Having gone to the Seiger Show in Ulm last year, I came back with a new appreciation for how wonderful our own domestic GSD's are and how well they would compete on the world stage if we were a bit closer geographically!
