Thank You Everyone !!! Yes the dog was obtained for show. And the breeder has no doubt about the undescended testicle. There really is not a big fight over this I simply will not engage into that. I agree with the general census that we should pay Pet Price for this dog to keep him in a good home as I feel that sending him away would be severely detremental to him he is very attatched to us. Again Thank You all for responding.

I would definitely go by what the Contract says. It is the agreement. If it says if he can't be shown, you must return him or pay full price (whatever that may be), then that's what you must do. If it's not covered, you should come to some sort of an agreement. What you should NOT do is keep the dog and not pay for it. That would be dishonest. I would pay the pet price and show proof of neuter, as that is what the breeder would want done anyway, is my guess. Good luck!

Hallo echomeadows why dont you pay pet price for the dog have the dog castrated and offer the breeder to send you another dog with the same contract but make sure that the new dog has 2 testicals also what kind of person is this breeder that would take a dog away from its loving family does she want the dog back to put him to sleep to hide the fact that she has a genetic fault in his/her breeding this breeder cant think very much of the dogs he/ she breeds or she would not be asking for this dog to be shipt back also this breeder is at fault for selling faulty goods the dog should have been checked for its testicals before being sold as a show /stud dog but please do not send the dog back please keep him good luck

We are definately keeping the dog even if we have to pay full price, nothing like this was covered in the agreement because we did not expect it to come up, And my daughter and I were both new at this so did not think of it. The dog had a health check done by her vet at time of shipping, So at that age could have been missed. 12wks. I just want to be sure we are doing the right thing, And I am sure that the breeder and I will come to an agreement, I just wanted to know what the general census of the "right thing to do" was. Thank You to everyone you have all been very helpful.

canines are so much honerable than people !! i feel for you being in that dilema but of course it is caused by corrupt people !! i say corrupt and that is my opinion because having stated the truth if these people that you dealt with truely loved and valued the pups thay produced - they should commend you for giving and wishiung to give the dog a LOVING CARING home ,with one testicle having not placed correctly -- IF they were respectable and honerable humans as canines are -- they should gladly offer for you to keep the pup free of cost -- you agreement should have immediately become null and void and the interests of the dog should be foremost !!___IRREGARDLESS OF the cost -- it is should not be about the MONEY , which it has corrupted them -- come on if they placed one pup purely for the love they had for the animal would it have broke thier piggy bank ?? my outlook -- SHAME on them --- good luck to you -- if it were me -- someone else would be short a testicle

No moral breeder would want to take this dog away from a loving home knowing it is now only pet quality and they would now have to take care and try to sell it as pet quality to someone else. As AKVeronica said they are likely counting on you being attached to the dog and willing to pay full price to keep it. We need a way to report these type of breeders so other buyers can be alerted to dealing with them.

Ripoffreport is a good place for that.

Co-ownership is always difficult when it comes to dogs that you get attached to. I have worked dogs as a handler in very harsh and extreme enviroments where I can say the dog has saved my life. I have been attached to them but knew it was not my dog and had to give it up when I left. It was hard but was a fact of life. Guarantees by breeders that state you must return the defective dogs are banking on the fact that you will be attached and not return the dog. Thus not have to replace it. If you really are attached, guess it puts you in the position of paying whatever the asking price is. Thats the price of attachment. in the future, realize that the dog is not yours, do what is required and remeber that some day the dog will go back to the breeder. Yes that is hard, but a fact of life.
