Hello i would definitely recommend swimming, this exercise puts no strain on the joins or bones and allows to build strength of the bone and muscle. Good luck

hello shri we train our dogs from 12weeks of age just 10 minuets road work pulling out on the end of the lead 3 times a week 1 time a week 10 minuets of ring training make it all fun For the older dog 5-6months old 20 minuets road work walking only pulling out on lead but not the full long lead just half the long lead this is to make the dog use its hind quarters so that thay will develop and the dog will drop on the hind quarters once you have done this and all has developed then you can take the dog swimming as this will keep the dog very fit and is good for the dog Yes with this training as other training methods it does put strain on the joints bones but if you are carfull not to over do it then all will be well We have been useing this training method for many years and have had no problems with our dogs or hips ect hope this helps you and good luck
